2.3. MIS Situation: Ali and Nancy are watching television. Nancy: Did you have a test today? Vladimir: Yes, it was my MISFORTUNE to have one in pronunciation. Nancy: Had you studied for it? Vladimir: No, I hadn’t. First I MISUNDERSTOOD the directions, then I MISPRONOUNCED some of the sentences, and finally I MISSPELLED several words. Exercise: 2.3.1. Practice MIS Use positive statements to express the same ideas. For example: Ali didn't understand the direction . ALI MISUNDERSTOOD THE DIRECTION . He spelled the words wrong. HE MISSPELLED THE WORDS . 1. He didn't pronounce his sentence correctly. 2. He didn't spell the words right. 3. He didn't understand what the teacher said. 4. He was so sleepy that he spelled his name wrong. 5. Although he had studied hard, he still pronounced some words wrong. 6. He didn't understand because he was sleepy. 7. Although he did his best, he again addressed the wrong person. 8. He pronounced the word incorrectly because he had forgotten the rule. 9. Their leader led them in the wrong direction.
