NOTHING, NOWHERE, etc. express NOT ANYTHING, NOT ANYWHERE, etc. Situation: Robert and his wife Betty are making plans for the evening. Robert: What would you like to do tonight, Betty? Betty: ANYTHING you like. What do you want to do? Robert: NOTHING in particular. Betty: Then, let’s stay home and watch television. Robert: Is there ANYBODY we should visit?
