1. Parties Situation: John is talking with his new friend, Tom. John: When did you come to Springfield, Tom? Tom: We moved here last week. John: Do you know any girls yet? Tom: No, I don’t. Why? John: We’re having a party at my house this Saturday and I’d like to invite you. Would you go on a blind date? Tom: I’d rather not. The last one I went on wasn’t very pleasant. John: All right. I know, I’ll introduce you to my girlfriend’s sister. 2. INVITE Situation: Tom is talking with John after the party. Tom: John, thanks for INVITING me to your party. I had a very good time. John: I’m glad you were able to come, Tom. I thought it was an excellent party. Tom: So did I. Mary introduced me to several girls.
